DESCRIPTION:We will celebrate the bygone days of this 1700s village.\nEnjoy a relaxing day in this once-bustling, now-quiet hamlet.\nActivities usually include (Double check closer to the event date):\nAshley Creek -Native American lore, language, culture.\nHistorical reenactors encampment – French & Indian, Civil War: Rick Norris – 18th C. encampment. Brian Hall, 18th-century reenactor.\nMaryAnne Lister shares information about the Fort Edwards Foundation and upcoming events.\nOld time music jam on the porch\nFolks clog/buck or flat foot dance\nInterpretive hay-less ride around the hamlet.\nRob Wolford, Black smith.\nModel A & Model T Fords.\nKim Straw and others display some steam engines & antique tractors.\nThe North River Mills United Methodist Church folks provide refreshments.\nThe adjacent quiet dirt lane is a nice place for a hike.\nC.C. Hall has an excellent site with info about the village: www.NorthRiverMills.org\nNorth River Mills was designated a “Historical Landmark”. If you have old photos ( people or structures of the village), we would love to scan them. Often old timers come to swap stories of North River Mills, giving the day a homecoming feel.\nTed Kalvitis, the antique tractor guru, and his better half, Stephanie, host the Narrow Gallery (corn crib) Art Show. (Contact us if you’re interested in exhibiting.)\nIce Mountain/ North River Mills docents may lead hikes to the cold vents (probably early.)\n
